Thanks for that, Brandie.

Ds always likes to have them in his lunchbox, and has the last of an 8 pack with him today.  There is a new pack sitting in the kitchen now, so I guess I'll be at Tesco later ....

He did say the other day that he had managed to get the 'spill proof' bottle to spill, but I thought that was just him as he is good at doing things like that!

I could never give fruit shoots to two of mine - no idea what was in them, but it made them totally uncontrollable.

It's to do with the bottle rather than the content.

I don't give mine fruit shoots either as they both go a bit hyper on them. My friend couldn't give her boys any Robinson's drinks. The eldest one was the worse when he had it.

Ys is the exact same, anything "sugar free" makes him totally uncontrollable.

They should recall the lot of them and keep them!! They contain aspartame which imo is nasty stuff and causes us all sorts of problems but especially uncontrollable behaviour......I'd rather give them the sugar than these awful sweetners & goodness knows what else they put in them.

I don't know why aspartame isn't banned in the UK as it is in some countries.  Ds used to react badly to anything containing it when he was younger, but he doesn't seem so bad now.  I prefer to buy normal sugar versions where possible rather than 'low sugar' drinks containing artificial sweetners.

I don't buy Fruit Shoots anyway, as I think they are extraoridinarily expensive for what they are (squash, in diddy bottles!). At the risk of sounding like the Auntie  from 'Goodness Gracious Me', I can make it at home for nothing....we have plenty of water bottles and I can fill them with squash! On the rare occasions that I do buy Fruit Shoots, I have been known to refill them with normal squash and keep them in the fridge.

You are not stingy BFG, but are thrifty, I buy water and drinks from my wholesaler for 10p to 30p a bottle instead of them paying between 60p to £1.20 a bottle at school, and always have fruit juice in so told them to reuse a water bottle to fill with juice if they prefer that. in the current economic climate it makes sense

Both my girls react badly to aspartame so we don't buy anything containing it. The green lidded Fruit Shoots have never contained it. Recently I bought some of the new version of blue lidded ones as they seem to have changed the ingredients and removed the aspartame.

I didn't know about the green & blue lidded ones Elaine, I guess once you know it's in a product youtend to avoid it. My girls will now only drink water so guess I should be pleased!!
