Because it'll be the planting season soon and the winter will be over AND... I've got another allotment!
Yup, the person next to me has moved on, so I'm taking over the other 'half' giving me a full sized lottie. And I'm just about to spend over £150 on fruit trees, that being what I want to grow.
Yes, I know Aldi does them for a fiver each at certain points of the year, but having spoken to my fellow allotmenteers they aren't brilliant and I'd be better off buying them from a nursery even though they cost five times as much. So that's what I plan to do. I've also got a cherry tree at home which hasn't thrived outside my house which I am going to TRY to transplant to the lottie, heaven knows if it will live, but it's worth a go I think.
Other than that, parsnips go in in a month, I planted some more broad beans today, oh and used my lovely Secret Santa gardening gloves (thank you JacquiL!) hurrah!
Anyone else getting started yet?

EB, now is the best time to transplant the tree as it's in a dormant state, let it have as big a root ball as you can manage to transport and leave as many tiny rootlets as possible and it should be ok. Good luck with the moving and planting.
