Nativity funnies, anyone?

Hi everyone,

I'm working on an article for TheSchoolRun.com about cringesome moments from school nativity plays. Have your little angels shown you up in the past? If so, I would love to hear your tales of woe.

Please do email me directly at lucy.dimbylow@virginmedia.com, send me a PM here, or reply direct to this thread (but let me know how I can contact you). I'll be sure to let you know if we use your story.

Many thanks,

Lucy: freelance writer

Many years ago, my eldest was Mary in her nativity at pre-school.  She was a couple of months off her 4th birthday and threw the baby jesus into the manger with such force I was fearful for my future grandkids!

The year before, she was a fairy.  The only fairy that didn't dance around the christmas tree on cue.   She just stood there holding her want aloft looking terrified.   She was only 2 though.

You can send me a PM if  you need to contact me.

Alex ran amok on stage one year and had to be removed from the hall. He was mortified, however, when he realised the whole thing was being filmed and his misdeeds were forever enshrined on DVD! To this day he won't let me watch it!

( you can send me a pm too if you'd like to use it Smile )

I remember Es' clearly.  He was 4 he was a sheep so had to wear white tights for the bottom, as he walked up the aisle his blue underwear stood out a mile....

He then had to sing a solo of  Away in a Manger.  When he got the the bit where it says no crib for a babe, Es sang no Creche for a babe, I was a lovely shade of red, everyone thought it was funny.  Even after he didnt understand why Jesus didnt go to the creche!

not mine but my SIL's - when my nephew was little he came home and told her he was a bear and needed a costume. My SIL dutifully sewed a fantastic bear costume out of fur material with a little hat with cute little bear ears. On the day she found out he was a sheep. He was the only brown 'sheep' in the play...

Olly was the innkeeper last year. He announced "there's no room here, me shed's got me car parked in it" instead of his correct line. Proud moments.
