We asked Ed Balls to come and do a webchat with all you lovely forum members, and his people say he has too many 'pressures on his diary' - how can we persuade him to come on? He really doesn't know what he's missing...
We are the electorate. He is an elected minister. It seems to me pretty much de facto that he should listen to our concerns and represent us. He is Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families - an area we here are all interested and involved in. If he’s too busy to talk to us now, he may find his diary less full after the next general election.
Thing is, Amy can set it up so it's pre-set questions, so there's no risk of it turning into a mumsnet-esque bullying session- not that I think that would happen here anyway, but I suspect ministers are cautious after the recent shenanigans.
So, allowing for that, there's really no reason why he shouldn't... I don't suppose he is so very busy he couldn't spend an hour in front of his computer of an evening one day. After all, we are all busy, right? but we manage to pack in quite a few hours on this site lmao!!!
I think Beth and Daedy just about covered it, historically we are a well moderated forum and dont' allow bullying - so he's safe and we are the type of people he SHOULD be listening too .
Busy, doing what? Electioneering is about to start in the new year, how would it look if he turned the lovely people on here who genuinely have concerns/ are interested in their childs education down
Thank you for all your brilliant points, some very persuasive arguments there. I'm going to write to him outlining why he should do it, we shall not give up!
Have beautiful pictures of your family or child to keep for years to come with a free photo session from the fabulous Smile School Photography, plus three free photos!
We've got seven prizes of three brand new, amazing books to give away - 100 People Who Made History, My Tourist Guide to the Solar System and the Lego Ninjago Sticker Book!
We are fabulous
We are genuinely interested in the issues
We are fabulous
We won't be horrid to him because that isn't the point.
We aren't remotely interested in his fave biccie or the speed at which he can type.
Oh... and we are fabulous.
That about covers it Beth!

Mm good point!
Maybe he could actually win some votes if his webchat is well received?
