Hurrah! There's a chill in the air, and I'm going to make some soup!

I happen to have butternut squash in the fridge, so it will be BN squash and coconut soup tonight. And I reckon by tomorrow there will be enough tomatoes ripe to make tomato and red pepper soup. I will check the tomatoes though, if there's enough we'll have that tonight *slurp*

What is your favourite soup?

Home made minestrone with home made pesto swirled in. I make it in huge vats, intending to freeze it but we always seem to scoff it before I can bag it up. Love soups on old nights with a big chunk of crusty bread.

When do kids learn to eat soup rather than spilling it down themselves/everywhere? ... or is that just mine ....

Mmm I love tomato soup - may have to have some now for lunch - although that will be out of a tin (sorry!)

LOl Janey, I invariably end up with it down my top even now.

My house smells all cumin-y now, yum yum yum.

Tomato soup from a tin is lufferly!

Alex is really into cup a soup at the moment too, he alternates between that and cereal when he comes home from school, usually starving hungry *rolls eyes*

I just had tomato soup for lunch. I like soup A LOT. Tomato, Lentil and Bacon, Royal Game and Broccoli and Stilton being my particular favourites. The only soup I'm not so keen on is Minestrone.

It's most definitely soup season, I'm wearing a jumper.

I love any soup (tinned in my house), but don't like the cold ones served in restaurants. I have tried them, but cold soup just doesn't feel right to me.

Leeds, on a really hot summers day you should try melon soup, it's gorgeous and cooling! Afaik, it's just varieties of melon blitzed down to a kind of puree, chilled and then served.

See, I think that I would have no problem with that if it was called Melon Cooler, or some such name. But to me, soups should be hot!

I agree Leeds, nothing on earth would persuade me to try a cold soup, ugh!
