Who is Richard Murdoch? Don't tell me there's another of the b*ggers out there!
Too many people have their spell-checkers set up to correct to American English, as well. I don't really mind spelling mistakes in forums and text messages (honestly I don't - don't start me on grammar though!!) , but on commercial webpages, letters from businesses and schools and anything official, I find spelling mistakes unprofessional and verging on the dodgy.
As for Michael, well you could always do what the Americans do with ae words and drop the e. I.E they write orthopedic not as it should be orthopaedic, so you could becoame Michal
We are offering one lucky winner 4 tickets for CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS, a new musical based on the music of Saint-Saens, which premieres at London's Riverside Studios in July, plus a pre/post-theatre meal for four at the Rainforest Café.
We have a series of four Skills Builders activity books for 10 winners. Each series is valued at £18 and winners can select the series they require (Year 3-Year 6).

I have ALWAYS had that problem with the name Michael! Micheal. They both look right to me, that's the problem.
I hate American English with a passion.
