The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) covers nursery and Reception. From the moment they start 'big school' you'll be amazed at how fast your four or five year old develops; by the end of the first term they'll be playground-savvy and increasingly confident with sounds and numbers. Full of questions and eager to learn, your child's first experience of school will make them more independent, but they'll love playing learning games with you.

Support your Reception child's learning with activities which mirror and reinforce what they're learning at school. Concentrate on helping them improve their pencil control, learn and read sounds (phonics) and get to grips with numbers and counting.
