Ok - new thread so as not to take-over the Christmas meal thread!

There is a Wacky Warehouse at The Phantom Winger somewhere near Preston that would provide food, coffees, and a playcentre for children up to 4'9'' ....

Don't know anything about it .... but I found it on a search!

Otherwise Polly knows of another playcentre that allows taller kids in, somewhere near Wigan.

My 'Preston People' are in Lea, Preston and have family in Shevington, Wigan so I think either place would be suitable for them - I see myself going to the same place morning and afternoon with two different groups of people!

We'll just have to see!
Any ideas, comments or dates?

That's heading away from us tbh could do with something closer to preston or wigan/shevington maybe.

Cannot find details of the wigan one, will keep looking though.

Not sure how folk feel about this but what about the Freeport Shopping village at Fleetwood.

They have an indoor play area that I think takes taller children, there is a couple of eateries - costa coffee and plenty off site, we could just go grab chips to make it cheap and cheerful.

Just a thought.

I might be up for that too depending on when you decide on. Am I allowed to come without any children? :? :?

Sounds fine to me!
Don't know a thing about the place, of course, but I'm sure we'd be fine ...

Is the playarea contained? I.E. no small red-headed boys making a break for freedom in somewhere their Mum doesn't know?

Ah. a long way out, on the coast.
Should still be fine - just a longer journey so we might have to overnight with the folks in Preston.

And the boys' great gran lives in Thornton Cleveleys so I guess this means popping in to see her as well .... interesting lady (96) but visiting with two boys to control and without Martin is a bit scary ..... at least meeting you guys would give me an exit line and a set time to leave!

How is the 30th to 2nd or so looking? At the moment I'm not booked in anywhere for New YEar's Eve or Day but that's probably going ot be a really BAD time to choose! So before or after that?

Looks like 30th or 2nd, doesn't it ..... Think I'd better book us into a Travel Lodge, there's one in Preston that we've used before.

Don't have postcodes but Preston to Burscough is 14 miles, Preston to Fleetwood is 22 just so you have a rough idea.

I've not used the play area but it appears to be contained in one of the units and we didnt' see any small kids acting covertly when we were at Freeport, like they had escaped from any where lol
