Special educational needs

Dad helping with homework

If your child is struggling at school you will know how worrying and frustrating it can be to negotiate the system to get the right type of support. TheSchoolRun's SEN articles will help you understand what is meant by a learning need and explain the policies and guidance in place to ensure your child’s needs are met at school. We also suggest ways you can support your child's education at home and give them a positive and successful experience of learning.

We offer details of further help and information as well as an outline of some of the most common types of special educational needs: dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, dyspraxia and autistic spectrum disorders.
