TheSchoolRun.com closure date

As we informed you a few months ago, TheSchoolRun has had to make the difficult decision to close due to financial pressures and the company has now ceased trading. We had hoped to keep our content available through a partnership with another educational provider, but this provider has since withdrawn from the agreement.

As a result, we now have to permanently close TheSchoolRun.com. However, to give subscribers time to download any content they’d like to keep, we will keep the website open until 31st July 2025. After this date, the site will be taken down and there will be no further access to any resources. We strongly encourage you to download and save any resources you think you may want to use in the future.

In particular, we suggest downloading:

You should already have received 16 primary school eBooks (worth £108.84) to download and keep. If you haven’t received these, please contact us at [email protected] before 31st July 2025, and we will send them to you.

We are very sorry that there is no way to continue offering access to resources and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Optional SATs papers: Y3 English set B

TheSchoolRun optional SATs papers: Y3 English set B
A Year 3 English practice optional SATs paper, written by a primary-school teacher to mirror the old optional SATs papers used in schools before 2016 to assess pupils' progress at the end of Y3. Exclusive to TheSchoolRun subscribers and available for instant download.
Keystage:  KS2, Year 3

Although 'official' SATs only take place at the end of each Key Stage (in Year 2 and Year 6), prior to 2016 some schools used  optional SATs to assess children's progress in English and maths at the end of Years 3, 4 and 5. Only a very limited number of optional SATs past papers were available to parents for at-home use (you can download them for free from TheSchoolRun), so we commissioned our own 'mock' papers.

New SATs exams were introduced in 2016, in line with the new National Curriculum. These mock papers, available exclusively to TheSchoolRun subscribers, are based on the old-style optional SATs but will still offer your child extra at-home revision opportunities and have been written to reflect the kind of questions they'll find in the official papers.

Year 3 English optional SATs, set B includes:

  • Y3 English Reading paper, Story text (In the swim!, The Healthy swimmer, The water baby)
  • Reading Answer booklet
  • Year 3 English Writing Assessment (The Talking Fish, The "Miracle Costume")
  • Answers and mark scheme

All the papers and marking materials have been merged into one easy download.
