Win a copy of Cherry Moon from Children’s Poetry Award winner Zaro Weil!

This year’s CLiPPA (CLPE Children’s Poetry Award) has been won by Zaro Weil for her book of nature poems, Cherry Moon.

Featuring one hundred short poems on the natural world and illustrated by Junli Song, it’s very beautiful.

Judge Steven Camden said, “Cherry Moon feels exactly what we need right now. A magical journey, grounded in natural beauty and a sense of communal wonder and hope.”

His fellow judge and poet Valerie Bloom added, “The playful exuberance of the text and complementary illustrations have immense child-appeal, but there is also an underlying thoughtfulness about the environment which parents and teachers sharing the book with younger children will appreciate.  This is a book to read and reread.”

You can watch Zaro performing her poems on the CLPE website where there is also information about CLPE’s Shadowing Scheme, which encourages children to discover the shortlisted collections and create their own poetry performances.
