TheSchoolRun.com closure date

As we informed you a few months ago, TheSchoolRun has had to make the difficult decision to close due to financial pressures and the company has now ceased trading. We had hoped to keep our content available through a partnership with another educational provider, but this provider has since withdrawn from the agreement.

As a result, we now have to permanently close TheSchoolRun.com. However, to give subscribers time to download any content they’d like to keep, we will keep the website open until 31st July 2025. After this date, the site will be taken down and there will be no further access to any resources. We strongly encourage you to download and save any resources you think you may want to use in the future.

In particular, we suggest downloading:

You should already have received 16 primary school eBooks (worth £108.84) to download and keep. If you haven’t received these, please contact us at [email protected] before 31st July 2025, and we will send them to you.

We are very sorry that there is no way to continue offering access to resources and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Place value grids for KS2

Seven- and eight-digit numbers: place value grids
Read each of the numbers in this KS2 place value worksheet, and then write the number in digits in the place value grid. Don’t forget to include commas in the correct places!
Keystage:  KS2, Year 6

What is place value?

Place value is a fundamental concept in mathematics that helps us understand the value of digits in a number based on their position or place in the number. The value of a digit is not just the digit itself but also its position in the number, relative to the decimal point.

How will this KS2 place value grid help my child?

This place value worksheet is a vibrant and educational resource for KS2 children. By engaging with this activity, your child will be able to develop a solid understanding of how digits change value based on their position in a number.

The worksheet requires your child to read the number sentences provided and identify the place values of each number, placing them in the grid.

It's a simple but visually appealing grid, which helps make learning fun, promoting independent thinking and problem-solving skills. Your child will be challenged at the end to cover up the number sentences and read the numbers allowed, requiring them to consider place value in a different way and pronounce the number correctly.

Our KS2 place value grid worksheet aligns with the National Curriculum and has been created and vetted by teachers.
