TheSchoolRun.com closure date

As we informed you a few months ago, TheSchoolRun has had to make the difficult decision to close due to financial pressures and the company has now ceased trading. We had hoped to keep our content available through a partnership with another educational provider, but this provider has since withdrawn from the agreement.

As a result, we now have to permanently close TheSchoolRun.com. However, to give subscribers time to download any content they’d like to keep, we will keep the website open until 31st July 2025. After this date, the site will be taken down and there will be no further access to any resources. We strongly encourage you to download and save any resources you think you may want to use in the future.

In particular, we suggest downloading:

You should already have received 16 primary school eBooks (worth £108.84) to download and keep. If you haven’t received these, please contact us at [email protected] before 31st July 2025, and we will send them to you.

We are very sorry that there is no way to continue offering access to resources and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

KS1 maths SATs practice paper B

TheSchoolRun KS1 SATs maths practice paper B
Looking for some new-style SATs practice papers? This is a complete KS1 SATs maths mock paper (Test B), written in the style of the new-curriculum test, to offer at-home practice for Y2 children.
Keystage:  KS1, Year 2

Since May 2016 KS1 SATs have been made up of new-style SATs papers, reflecting the revised primary curriculum in England. The maths test is made up of two papers:

  • Paper 1 is an arithmetic test
  • Paper 2 is a problem-solving test

The use of tools like calculators, number lines and number squares is not allowed.

The KS1 maths SATs papers are also available for free download from TheSchoolRun.

TheSchoolRun has also produced five complete mock papers, written in the style of the KS1 SATs, for at-home practice and study. Prepared by primary-school teachers, the practice papers offer children the opportunity to practise the kinds of questions they might be asked to answer in the May assessments. All answers are provided so you can mark your child's work at home.

Please note: our practice papers have not been prepared for official assessment purposes and we are unable to offer scoring / levels information for teachers.

How to use these KS1 SATs practice papers

Allow your child to complete the tests in a quiet room without any help.

Paper 1 should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and Paper 2 around 35 minutes.

Following the test, it will really help your child to sit down and work through the answers together – use the marking information provided. Remember to talk about what they have achieved and review any questions they may have found tricky. Encourage them to look carefully at the different question types so they feel confident about how to answer them quickly and accurately.

As with anything new, reassure your child that this practice test is simply a way of checking what they have been learning in class. Talking through the test and praising their understanding will really help them to feel confident and achieve their very best in May!
