Although 'official' SATs only take place at the end of each Key Stage (in Year 2 and Year 6), prior to 2016 some schools used optional SATs to assess children's progress in English and maths at the end of Years 3, 4 and 5. Only a very limited number of optional SATs past papers were available to parents for at-home use (you can download them for free from TheSchoolRun), so we commissioned our own 'mock' papers.
New SATs exams are being introduced from 2016 in line with the new National Curriculum. These mock papers, available exclusively to TheSchoolRun subscribers, are based on the old-style optional SATs but will still offer your child extra at-home revision opportunities and have been written to reflect the kind of questions they'll find in the official papers.
Year 3 English optional SATs, set B includes:
- Y3 English Reading paper, Story text (In the swim!, The Healthy swimmer, The water baby)
- Reading Answer booklet
- Year 3 English Writing Assessment (The Talking Fish, The "Miracle Costume")
- Answers and mark scheme
All the papers and marking materials have been merged into one easy download.
