Optional SATs papers: Y5 English set A
Although official, externally-assessed SATs only take place at the end of each Key Stage (in Year 2 and Year 6), up until 2015, some schools used optional SATs to assess children's progress in English and maths at the end of Years 3, 4 and 5. Only a very limited number of official optional SATs papers are available to parents for at-home use (you can download them for free from TheSchoolRun), so we commissioned our own 'mock' papers.
In 2016, new SATs exams were introduced, in line with the new National Curriculum. These mock papers are based on the 'old-style' optional SATs, but can still be used to offer your child extra practice opportunities and have been written to reflect the kind of questions they'll find in the official papers.
Year 5 English optional SATs, set A includes:
- Y5 English Reading paper, Story text (A world of dragons, The Daily Myth!)
- Reading Answer booklet
- Year 5 English Writing Assessment (Meeting George the Dragon Slayer, Dragon owner’s manual)
- Answers and mark scheme
All the papers and marking materials have been merged into one easy download.
