Understanding light reflection: Build your own periscope
Mirrors change the direction of light and reflect it. We can demonstrate this practically by making a periscope. Light is reflected from one object into a mirror and then onto the other mirror before reaching your eyes. Collect your materials and find out for yourself!
What is evaporation?
In this investigation you are going to see if water can move – or does it just change?
Food webs
When we look at habitats we often look at food chains to see the feeding relationships within them. Sometimes, though, more than one animal feeds off others. This is when we make food webs. Look at these cards. Can you cut them out and arrange them on the table with the arrows to show which animals feed off each other?
I hear with my little ear
Sit in a quiet place and close your eyes and listen really carefully. What can you hear inside the room? What can you hear inside yourself? Record the sounds you hear.
KS2 high frequency words flashcards
After learning to read and spell the most common words in Reception and KS1, your child will move on to a longer list of common words including 'brought' and 'thought'. Support their learning at home with our KS2 high frequency words practice flashcards.
Using the subtraction column method
This worksheet helps your child to subtract decimal numbers using the column method, practising setting out the calculations correctly.
Times table and division facts practice
This worksheet shows children the relationship between multiplication and division. It encourages them to write out number sentences containing the same numbers in different ways.
Recording coordinates
Use this worksheet for children to work out different coordinates according to their colour on the grid.
Matching multiplication and division facts
Your child can use this grid to test themselves on their multiplication facts. They then need to relate their multiplication facts to their division facts.
