Adding and subtracting negative numbers
To add and subtract negative numbers, it’s helpful to use a number line. See if you can complete these sums using the number lines.
Greater than and less than
When a number is bigger than another number we use the ‘greater than’ sign. When two numbers are the same we use the equals sign. When a number is smaller than another number we use the ‘less than’ sign. Can you add in the correct symbol in the number pairs below?

Quick counting Snap game
Shuffle the cards and play Snap! Place a card face-up on the table. Then take turns to form a face-up pile of cards next to it. When the number on one pile matches the picture on the other, that’s SNAP! The player who says “snap” first keeps the cards. Keep playing until one player has all the cards – they win!
