Be a scientist
This activity will develop your child's imagination and design skills.
Animal spinners
Cut the spinners out, stick them on card and push a pencil through the middle. Spin both wheels at the same time and act out or talk about the two animals that you land on (for example, talk like a frog or grow like a caterpillar!). Now research your favourite animal.
A to Z of body parts
Play a car game listing an A to Z of parts of the body, for example: arm, belly button, cuticles… If you get stuck you may need to be creative and think of variations (for example, digits instead of fingers). If you’re playing with older children they could also list internal organs!
Identify the parts of a plant
This Year 1 science worksheet is all about plants and their different parts and offers you the opportunity to discuss how plants grow with your child.
Spelling the word 'February'
This worksheet gives ideas on how to help your child learn the word 'February'. The same activity could be applied to various other difficult words.
Number line jigsaw
This worksheet consists of an empty number line for you to add your own numbers to. The number line then needs to be cut up and muddled up for your child so that they can re-arrange it into its original order.
Full stops and capitals: a space story
This task involves cutting the words up and then arranging them into four sentences. Children then need to write these sentences with full stops and capital letters.
Improve your child's handwriting in 8 weeks
Handwriting is a crucial life skill, but how can you help your child write neatly and legibly? Our eight-week learning pack is packed with information and tips from handwriting experts, as well as fun and practical steps you can take to help your child put theory into practice.
Changing verbs to add -ing and -ed
This worksheet explains the rules for changing the tense of verbs ending in 'e' and also those that end in 'hissing' and 'buzzing' sounds.
Spelling patterns: the prefix un-
A prefix is a string of letters that is added on to the start of a word. When you add the prefix ‘un-’ to a word, it gives the word the opposite meaning. Can you use this rule to change the meaning of words in these sentences?
Phase 1 high frequency words flashcards
During Years 1 and 2 your child will be expected to learn to read and spell high-frequency words as well as the days of the week, months of the year, numbers to twenty and colours. Help them practise at home with our colourful flashcards.
Number square to 100
In KS1 maths your child will learn to calculate using a number square to 100. Print out our teacher-created versions (plain, jungle-themed and very colourful!) to help them practise addition and subtraction at home.
Using comparative vocabulary
Long, longer, longest... confusing isn't it? Help your child grasp the concept of comparative measurement with this worksheet containing key vocabulary.
